Here’s where we anticipate your burning questions and do our best to answer them.
I’m not much of a writer, and I can only draw stick figures. Does that matter?
Nope! Your recording skills (writing and/or drawing, painting, pastel-ing, crayon-ing and so on) are absolutely perfect for T.I.N. Your approach to creative expression is unique, and we can’t wait to see it.
Remember, the act of noticing is far more important than creating a masterpiece or saying something deeply profound. The point of T.I.N. is to enjoy a few quiet moments of regular reflecting and recording — and sharing. We totally encourage cross-outs, spelling mistakes, coloring outside the lines, and drawing weird dogs that don’t look anything like an actual dog (see below).
Is T.I.N. a form of meditation?
In some ways, yes. Like meditation, T.I.N. invites you to be more present and engaged as you go about your day. Figuring out what your T.I.N. entry will be means tuning in to what’s on your mind or what’s happening around you. Unlike meditation, T.I.N. lets you treat yourself to a few precious moments of creative expression.
What happens at the end of a T.I.N. challenge?
During each challenge time-period, everyone who completes the challenge (e.g., upload five posts in eight days) will be entered in a random drawing for a delightful prize. The real reward, of course, is that after regular T.I.N.ing, you’ll be hooked!
If I’m not interested in the challenge or one isn’t running, may I still post?
Of course! We welcome (and encourage!) your posts anytime you are inspired to observe and share.
How should I title my posts?
Note: You can search for posts by title by clicking on the search magnifying glass in the menu bar. (You might want to see all posts about cats or find that awesome post about Swiss cheese.)
Will my posts appear anywhere else besides on the T.I.N. site?
Can I search for other members’ posts?
When you click on the username listed directly below each post, you’ll see everything that T.I.N. community member has uploaded.
Should I tell my friends about T.I.N.?
Yes. Everyone and anyone can participate in and enjoy the T.I.N. experience. The more, the merrier!
What are the Today I Noticed community rules of the road?
Our guidelines are pretty simple: Don’t be a jerk. That is, don’t be rude, crude, critical, derogatory, or make someone else in the community feel uncomfortable in any way. If you do, we’ll have to delete your posts and remove you as a member.
